A magnitude 8.2 earthquake hit near the south coast of Sumatra on Wednesday 12th September at 06:10 pm local time. A tsunami was generated. The epicentre was within 200 km of numerous volcanoes including Kunyit, Belirang-Beriti, Bukit Daun, Kaba, and Dempo.
