John Seach on August 30th, 2008
Nyiragongo volcano in Democratic Republic of Congo was visited by John Seach in August 2008. An active lava lake was observed in the summit crater. Lava fountaining and strong degassing was observed from the surface of the lava lake.More on Nyiragongo Volcano…

Chaiten volcano was visited by John Seach from 22nd to 26th August 2008. During a summit climb, an active lava dome was observed in the summit crater. The dome was about 120 m high and produced lava avalanches, and loud roaring noises.More on Chaiten volcano…
